It has been a week since we all got back from Romania, and now we are back in our comfort zones. The trip challenged us to get to know new people and a new culture and we were faced with a lot of extraordinary things. We got to work alongside real construction professionals, hang out with some really cool orphans and really change the lives of a family by giving them a new home.

For me, the most challenging thing was not building the house – that was the easiest part – but actually taking initiative to talk to our German and Romanian friends. Sadly I have to confess that they usually talked to me first, which I am thankful for. But now, after the most exhilarating unusual week ever, we are back at home. Back in our comfort zones. Let’s make sure that we do not all just disappear into AMS, BFA or our secluded comfort zones again, but that we can remember our experiences and keep up friendships that started on that amazing trip to Beius, Romania.
