Snow Is Falling Gently on the Trees; Oh My!
by Ashleigh Antrim
Today was a very relaxing day and we are all ready to work hard tomorrow. It ended up snowing and as a result, we went to sight-see in the city of Oradea. It was about an hour drive into the city and we went to swim in a very cool indoor swimming pool. Towards the end of our time there, we all took pictures while sitting or laying in the snow and had a snowball fight. To say the least, we all had frozen fingers and toes. Fun fact: the music there only consisted of one song playing over and over.
Afterwards, we went to a shopping mall for an hour or two to hang out and, of course, shop. When we finished around 5 PM, we all had the choice to either go bowling, keep shopping or go to the house that they built for the orphans last year. We all split up and had a ton of fun! At the house, Adrian (one of the orphans) showed his apartment and they took lots of pictures. At bowling, Mr. Taylor, Jackson, Keith and Patrick ended up winning! On the bus ride home, four August-Macke-Schule students were singing all types of songs in the back of the bus.
We had a devotion at the hotel before dinner and then we sat in every other chair so that when the German students came, we had to interact. Even though, we speak two different languages, this allowed us to talk and have a conversation with everybody and not just the people we specifically know. Then afterwards, we shared about the trip so far.
The trip is going really well and we are all enjoying our time here. I think I speak for all of us when I say that it is very eye-opening, unpredictable and special experience to be in Romania all together. We look forward to spending more time with the family continuing to build the house! Danke; Multumesc;Thank you; for all of your support!
